Artisanat
:
Most of the islands' resources are exploited in arts & crafts. Hand-made hats, basketwork, pottery, and coconut and sea-shell jewellery, all with a local touch, are available on Mahé.
Paintings & Batiks
:
A few art galleries display the work of local artists but visits can be organised in the studios of the artists.
Miniature Boat Models
:
An old colonial house on the east coast of Mahé, where sailboat miniatures are manufactured and sold. The meticulous reproductions of these miniatures are executed from original plans directly from the Marine Museum of Paris.
Coco de Mer
:
A Coco-de-Mer nut is probably the most unique and unusual souvenir to bring back from Seychelles. A limited number of these nuts are available in specialised shops on Mahé and Praslin. It is imperative that the buyer is issued with an export certificate which will be required when leaving the territory with this protected plant.
